Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit this page.

It would appear that I'm running the London Marathon this year!  I know that this might not be the best of ideas but the lure of 26.2 miles through my home town was just too much to resist.

Training has been going well and the days until the big day are vanishing as fast as the inches off my waist line.  So far my knee's are holding out and doing what they should - albeit ably assisted by copious amounts of Ibuprofen and ice.  I'm not usually one to ask for donations but wanted to ensure that my efforts this time would reward both a personal cause and a very deserving one. The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation provides hugely valuable support, research, campaigning and information services in relation to the UK's biggest cancer killer.  I can think of no better way to help their work than to ask that you support them through me.  You can find out a little more about them at the bottom of this page or by visiting their website.  I'll be running the marathon in memory of Nicola, a friend who recently sadly passed away after a short but courageous battle with lung cancer.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe and they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep if you can and donate now.

Very many thanks.

Steve
